Panzernet, Do I understand correctly that you want to convert to the panzers .4d format? So you can import 3d models into the game? I looked around but found nothing. So the .4d format is the gepard engine asset format?

To anyone: I need information on the HelpRange and Tactics values in the mission editor trigger menu. Also I need to know how to link .tga custom briefing screens into a mission. If you know about these or know a resource that provides this information, please let me know.

Update. I found this site that has a good collection of WW2 arial photography and bought a 1 year subscription   http://ncap.org.uk
I skimmed through the site a bit and it looks good. I can now find location photos and use them to make the maps. All the photos have the date when they were taken and I am happy that this issue is solved.
So all the campaign missions will have actual true to scale locations from that time, yay.

Here is a test image that show this will work.  http://neptunian.org/missing-campaigns/maps/battles/

Panzernet, good question smile  so here is the monthly report:

I am working on the second demo map but slowly. The first map was to get feedback (I don't know if anybody played it). This second map is much larger and is a test to see if I can get the AI to work nice and the Feel of the mission to be epic. Will take another month at least. So far I have solved the map reference problem. I can get the aerial photography and translate it into a game map. That being said - the material for Russia and the desert is not so abundant ...  So now I will research historical documents on battles starting with France and Italy I guess using american sources and searching for german sources. From these I will try to find locations that are tight/condensed enough to make a great map. From the candidates I will filter those that could fit into a linear campaign much like the phase 1 and 2 campaigns were organised. Then I have to make the maps starting this summer if all goes well.
I am researching some information on the mission editor and the animaker and it looks ... not bad smile The next months it will be slow but maybe I can get some support via the patreon page or with a donate button later once a few people see the progress and especially the second map. Of course it may well be that I won't find any financial support at all but that is ok too. I will see this through and I will play the campaigns!!! (on Sundays).

I have got the stuff to do the tutorial videos but I have never made one and ... I will start seriously on that next week. And the manual will start taking shape too.
If I put something on the site I will post here immediately - and if I don't I will update here once a week that I am still on it smile

Excellent map, really. Repect. Still, you could add more Phase 3 units.

Added (2016-04-15, 11:20 PM)
---------------------------------------------
BUT wait, how come there are Americans in France in 1943? tongue You'd better change the date!

Added (2016-04-15, 11:59 PM)
---------------------------------------------
You could add more units in general, as right now player can walk freely to the support place behind the church and the factory without being disturbed at all. The camp is also too weakly defended.

Panzernet, Macer!  Thank you for taking a look and happy that the map is good. Yes, the spanish version was updated not the german or english one, they still carry 1943 hehe. I will see that all lang versions are up to date. I don't have the phase 3 mod installed and up to now the 3 campaigns are planned to run in a standard phase 2 install. I will add some more units but I did want the first part of the mission to be more recon so there should be a path with least encounters to the town. However I will try to narrow it more and the camp will get some units. The support place behind the church is a mistake, will remove it. It takes me one hour to play the map with zero losses and of course the map is (to some extent) built around this approach that I take. Thats why it is great to have feedback on how a player with a different approach experiences it so I can make the map work better for all.
I really appreciate your feedback.
I will upload the new versions asap and give them a v2 in the name.

What about the multifactory to the left from town? Did you want it to be available to player? Do you know a way to make it produce „late” war units, like it does in multimaps? It only does early now, which, umm, sucks.
I appreciate your patience. I'd never have enough to make all the decorations. And I'm not so good with the triggers.

Panzernet. I have updated the map and have now 4 lang versions. German, English, Spanish and Serbian. I am typing up the briefing Screens for German, English and Serbian. Would you like to do the Spanish text? :)

We have lost contact with a troop surrounded by enemy forces
in a small town near Caen. Antiaircraft Guns are in place
preventing us from sending supplies
Your task is to eliminate these positions and to make your way
to the troops, evacuating them to an extraction point.

The enemy is sending in reenforcements and an attack on
the town will commence once these are in place.
Patrols are everywhere and stealth is advised.

Main objectives:
1. Eliminate the Antiaircraft guns.
2. Join up with the town troops and evacuate them

Secondary Objectives:
2 of our tanks have been captured.
You may be able to retrieve them.

Heereskommando  12 July 1944

@Macer - I removed the Factory - good that you mentioned that - I had seen it was a 'funny' building but then forgot about it, so no, I did not intend to have that in the map. :)
I have downloaded the split versions of the phase three mod and your detail mod. I will take a look and install it (how do I glue the 4 parts together again?) and report back.

Here you are roadie :)

Objetivos principales;
1. Eliminar los cañones antiaéreos
2. Reúnete con las tropas de la ciudad y evacualas

Objetivos secundarios:
2 de nuestros tanques han sido capturados.
Deberías poder recuperarlos

Update.  I have abandoned the idea to get monthly funding via Patreon.com because they take 20% IIUC and that is just a waste for this project which will never go viral.
I still think that I might get a number of people to donate real money to making these campaigns but realistically this could maybe happen in a few months when the word gets around and people see that I deliver the quality and that in the end there will actually be 45 missions and 36 maps for everyone in 8 languages and in the quality that the original game has.
So sometime in the future I am going to put a donate button on the site and explain what people are supporting and what the roadmap/timeline is. For now I changed the 'teaser' video to point to the projects homepage and put it on youtube and vimeo:
https://youtu.be/ywolHdxbCME
https://vimeo.com/158664597

So play the demo and link the site and the 'teaser' wherever you see fit. Thank you and I appreciate feedback on version 2 of the demo mission. I am working on the second mission and there will be one more desert mission before I start working on the actual campaign maps. These demo missions are a proof of concept if you like. For people to check out if they like them enough to support the project. (and for me to see if I will be able to pull this off).
Have a lovely day
Torsten

Macer, I downloaded the update 661MB ... and I can't find a link for the full Phase 3 mod 1.88GB to download. The filchier link bugs me to sign up for something ... and the other links are dead? Am I missing something? I did download your realism mod.
I am quite happy to host the full mod on my server with no hassles if I can get it somewhere ...

... and indeed it does smile  <facepalm>

I am happy that you appreciate the decoration work I put into the map. Back in 2008 or earlier I made the Italy Summer map on kanes board (I think I used the handle butterbaerchen) and if you saw that map you might notice the radar hill from that is copied into the payback map. I had no experience doing triggers back then and made the map for people who did not have the patience for the decoration work and were more into triggers ... and it was used for a map I think. It is a bit late now but I still think making 'template' maps for the community is a good idea because like you said it takes so much patience and time to make the environment of a game map. Take a look at this page http://neptunian.org/missing-campaigns/toolshed/
were I will be putting resource maps from which stuff can be copied.

I have found another great resource for WW2 arial photography, maps and photos  -  http://www.wwii-photos-maps.com
This site has the eastern front photography that I was missing at http://ncap.org.uk (which in turn covers France and Italy very well).

Yes you can. But if I install the Mod, can I still work with the editor on my maps without having stuff from Panzers 3? I will install the Mod now and see how it works. Send the map. Or the Idea? smile

one more thing
I am all for coop - the panzers 3 mod is proof that people have the love for the game to do this. But we need to find a way to get donations to make something 'really' outstanding. I am not talking about making money. But the time that needs to be invested in truly awesome maps has to be financed in some way ... I do think that we would have to invest the time to make a demo that shows what folks would get for their donations. Correct me if I am wrong but how hard would it be to find 100 panzer fans to give 5 dollars a month so we could work 6 hours a day on this? I could work full-time on it for 300 a month. Did you see the youtube video I made? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywolHdxbCME we can make a kickass trailer once the demo is done and then it would be just a question of how to spread the word, or am I delusional?

phase 3 installation
failed - dll file issues - I read about it but is there a simple instruction somewhere? Seems the program is looking within the phase3 folder for files that are in the phase3/cp3main folder ... copying the files into phase3 folder got rid of the dll problems but fails with initialising the audio system ...

We can make a facebook fanpage to advertise it, as for the beginning. I could make 3d models - I've done American flak 90mm M3 and half of Russian 85mm 52-K AA, but I don't really know how to implement these in game. They need some pivots, skins and probably some more things I have no idea about. I'm also going to make some SPGs and PaKs, which should be easy.
As far as the installation goes -  the last time I did it was, hah, 5 years ago biggrin But I could send you my files, they have some 11GB, but they work biggrin The language version is in polish, but you would only need to copy the data, not exes, I think.

Or wait. There's a folder „Log” in \Run. It has error messages in, upload the latest logs and I might tell you how to fix that.

I think that is one of the problems - there was no run folder ... or do you mean the phase two run folder?

Facebook fan page is a good idea. But first find out what is to be advertised. Maybe doing 3 campaigns is just too big and will take too long. I enlarged the map I am working on to max size 1024x1024 and I want to try and make it a 'game in a map' mission. Script 2 days into 3-4 hours of gameplay that has attack, defend, escort and scout in it. As well as fighting along a large force that the player does not control but supports by doing his share. I want to see if there are players that enjoy a big map which is highly complicated and challenging. Maybe even make 2D situation and recon maps and kind of a mini manual for one mission.
This way there would be a playable result within a month or so. Getting support for the campaigns project seems very difficult - its a 6 - 10 month project at least, impossible to do in my free time. Of course it would be great to have the units and your realism mod and new models but the hassle of installing that needs to be solved for people who might just have bought the game. Making it work in a default phase 2 install is just so much easier ... dunno. Have to see how well this new map turns out.
So if you have a map that needs decorating let me know, I just have to be able to load it in the 'normal' editor.

And thank you for offering the files but I have only 8GB left on the xp machine hard disk that I work on .. :)

I found that the demo mission has sunrise issues - at the bridge defence a second sunrise is scripted which leads to menu overlay glare <facepalm> - fixing it now and will upload later. I can also say that I have found the info I needed on how to use the HelpRange and Tactics values. I tested the knowledge in the german payback map and the AI is so much better and harder to beat. Very neat. I will write it up on the site later how to use these values. A big thank you to Achim and Maci for this.
