hi, im new to modding panzers 2...and i just cant get any of these mods to work right...
ive had problems with crashing and tanks not moving and all sorts of stuff and im not sure why.

ive looked through a bunch of the mods on here, and none of them seem to explain the install in the same way, so what, definatively, is the correct way to put these mods into action, and what is the correct setup/location for the game.ini...for that matter, what is the units.ini for...

i just need a rundown on what i need to add/change in the game.ini...and the correct structure for putting the mods in the \run folder...

i appreciate any help because i am at a total standstill right now.

Hi,

1. Those 3 pictures should help you:

P.S. If you still have problems open game.ini and make sure that the "Locale = " function contains the proper localization code.
Locale = en - for English version of your game
Locale = de - for German version of your game
Locale = hu - for Hungarian version of your game
Locale = ru - for Russian version of your game
Locale = ita - for Italian version of your game
Locale = fr - for French version of your game and so forth...

2. "units.ini" contains the list of all the units in the game

Thanks
i got that worked out.
i think most of my problems earlier were from trying to work multiple mods at once...

all i need to do is edit the units.ini with the new unit info and fit the actual files into the
existing \mods folder structure correct?
the game.ini 's for different mods seem to all have their "search" paths listed in different ways...so i wasnt sure if one mod can work from another mod's game.ini

No problem.

To make game.ini work properly, try using this form

Quote
Search = .\Mods;./main.pak

i have one other question...is it possible to edit or create new .unit files...and if so how...
is it possible to add entirely new units to the game?

Yes it is possible to create .unit files but that doesn't add new units literally. .unit file is just a configuration file for the added model and texture. To create a new unit you must create a unit model (.4d and .dxt or .dds) first.
